Michael S. Brandner,
Jr. is a native New Orleanian and a product of Jesuit High School. Mr. Brandner
received an undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. After graduating from LSU, Mr. Brandner returned home to attend the
Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans. Upon receiving his juris
doctorate (“J.D.”), Mr. Brandner moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he
attended Boston University School of Law (“BU”) and received a master of law
(LL.M.) degree in taxation.
After receiving his
LL.M. at BU, Mr. Brandner worked at a law firm whose practice focused on
insurance defense, specifically in automobile, trucking, and maritime
accidents. After discovering the tactics of insurance companies and the games
they play with injured victims, Mr. Brandner left that firm to work at a law
firm that specializes in state and local taxation where he represented both
small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. After realizing the profits large
corporations make by victimizing individuals and small businesses, Mr. Brandner
wanted to bring justice to these victims.
When Hurricane Katrina
struck the Gulf Coast, Mr. Brandner and his family fled New Orleans. Mr. Brandner’s job required him to relocate to Oxford, Mississippi and his wife and
child were forced to live in Kennewick, Washington. After Hurricane Katrina,
Mr. Brandner assisted his parents, brother and other family members with their
insurance claims on homes damaged by the storm. It was then that Mr. Brandner
noticed a pattern of horrendous behavior on the part of insurance companies
insuring the homes of his family and friends.
To date, Mr. Brandner
has fought for victims throughout the United States, with lawsuits against
Fortune 500 companies, large corporations, and large insurance companies. From
condominium associations, other lawyers and their families to maritime workers,
retired schoolteachers and laborers, Mr. Brandner has assisted a wide variety of
clients from various backgrounds. No matter what type of individual or small
business that Mr. Brandner represents, he maintains a common goal – Justice.
In 2011, CityBusiness
recognized Mr. Brandner as one of the top 50 lawyers in the greater New Orleans
area. In 2009, Jefferson Life magazine recognized Mr. Brandner as one of
Jefferson Parish’s top attorneys.
Mr. Brandner sits on
the Board of Directors for the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson
Dollars for Scholars Organization, Leadership Jefferson, and the Christian
Brothers School Alumni Association.
In 2009 Mr. Brandner
received a fellowship from Loyola University’s Institute of Politics. He is
currently participating in the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer’s College program.
Mr. Brandner is a
member of the American Association of Justice (formerly the American Trial
Lawyers’ Association), Louisiana Association of Justice (formerly the Louisiana
Trial Lawyer Association), Academy of New Orleans Trial Lawyers, Louisiana State
Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce,

Mr. Brandner dedicates
a portion of his income to support various non-profit organizations, including

Foundation, Christian Brothers School, Jesuit High School and the Salvation
Army.
